Attic tank leaking

    Hi people,

I have two water tanks up in the attic. A big one for ordinary water and a second small one that I presume is for the heating (not sure about this). The second tank has a pipe going outside the house. I reckon this pipe is to stop water spilling on the attic floor when the water level raises in the tank. Like an overflow thinghy. Anyway, there is water going out this pipe since yesterday. Just a small drip.
    What could be causing this?

    Thanks

Sounds like a ball cock sticking - though I'm no plumber

If its the smaller tank it may be something as straight forward as the ball-cock needing to be replaced.
If the ball-cock is fine and the tank is still overflowing it may be something more serious, worse case being that the heating coil in the hot water cylinder has a hole in it and the cylinder will have to be replaced.

Yes guys, I think is the ball cock… even lifting it with my hands it doesn't stop the flow completely. I'll get a new one tomorrow
    Thank you
