Fastest way to get seen theough the public service

    Hi,

    I require treatment for a back problem which I am not covered through my health insurance as I only joined up lately. I saw a consultant in a private hostpital who diagnosed the problem but would not need to go through a public hospital to get treatment. Does anyone know the best way to go about this. If I saw another consultant privately in a public hospital and then asked him to put me on the public waiting list for treatment would this be faster than waiting to be seen by a consultant publicily and then put on a waiting list??

    Confused!!!

    It would cut out the waiting time of seeing the consultant publicly (which could be sizeable) but you would still be waiting the sake length of time for the procedure part.
