Co-habitants getting married

    Quick question...if two co-habitants, who are both receiving Disability Allowance,get married, does anything change regarding their payments?
    I'm assuming we obviously have to notify DSS btw.

    Nothing changes.
    This is assuming DSP already know you are cohabiting.

    Thanks for the info. Yes, they know we are co-habiting. Nothing else will be changing, same address etc. Do we have to notify them in writing, or will a phone call do?

    If one of you is changing your name then that person should inform Longford in writing of the change.

    No .

    All the services are now linked from the time you apply for a marriage licence till you say I do .

    We got married in December and a week later i went to my local office to inform them, they already had it on the system even got a congratulations off them .
