Worth waiting until July to buy used from main dealer?

Finally sold my car and am in a position to move quickly on a 141 passat from a main dealer who has so far been quite unwilling to move on price. Might be a silly question but is it worth waiting until the 152 cars are out (and the dealer has more stock on the forecourt on trade-in) to try and thrash out a deal? Or does it really not make much of a difference?

Always best to deal at the end of a quarter when salespeople are chasing targets. That said you may just have reached the best deal you will get from that salesperson, try dealing with someone else.

How well is it priced against other similar cars? If it's priced lower than other similar cars then you will find it hard to get the dealer to drop it further.

Priced middle of the road really. Spoke to another dealer who'll knock €1,250 off an already lower price. Happy days.

In theory the market will be more flooded with used cars next month with the 152 cars getting sold so dealers will want to make room for anything traded in, that said if the Passat is not your ordinary entry level he may hold on to it and be charging a justifiable premium for it given its condition. Make sure dealer is clear on what you are offering to buy it for and that you have no trade in that he will need to factor in to the deal.
