The Aqua V2 with a lot of pretext :)

So I've been vaping and off the cigs since August 2013 and during this period I have gone through a lot of devices and tanks.
Up until a couple of months ago I have been using a kayfun 3.1 clone, with which I was pretty happy and content with the flavour and all, but it did have a couple of annoying issues, number one was leaking and number two was the inability to work properly with high VG viscous liquids.

So I felt like it was time for a change, I noticed the kayfun v4 was out with a lot of good reviews, but the fact that it was made out of 40+ parts along with my experience with the 3.1 made me look for an alternative.

Here is where the Aqua V2 came in and I am so happy I went with it.
No more leaking ! Excellent flavour ! It comes with 3 different options, one of them being a dripper ! And it can easily be built either dual or single coil. It has 4 juice ports allowing even the highest VG juices to flow nicely to the wick.
It's also much lighter than the kayfun and I can check on my built without having to empty the tank or even lose a single drop of juice :)
Another top point is the tool-less adjustable air intake, which by the way is wider than the kayfun thus providing better and easier airflow.

So far I haven't found anything wrong with this RTA if anything it works as it should, providing loads of vapour when I want it, so I was very surprised not to find that many reviews and or opinions about it. I can't afford the original so this what I think about a Chinese clone of the original device.

EDIT: Forgot to mention one thing about the clone, once i received it it had the metal tank on and it took me a good while to unscrew it from the build deck (caution sharp edges around the inner side of the base that unscrews to disassemble the pin ) , in the process the o-ring came out in pieces. I've seen the same thing in another review so i'm guessing that either the space for the o-ring isn't what it's supposed to be in depth or the o-ring wasn't sized accordingly. Either way it was a minor inconvenience as i had loads of o-rings from previous tanks and i just found one that fitted.

I hope this post helps in keeping someone off the cancer sticks :)

I like the idea of having both tank and dripper option in the same package but at a 150 quid they can keep the ****ing thing

So do what I did, go to fasttech spend 20 and get pretty much the same thing, I would also recommended getting the 5 pack of acrylic replacement tanks, just in case.

Glad you posted this, I've been interested in the Aqua. Which one did you get on FT? As far as I remember there are a few.

I got the one that goes for 22.68 the sku I got says out of stock but they got another one for exactly the same price, so I'm guessing it's a different batch or different supplier.
Either way it seems to be the same product at the same price, I will not be posting a link as it might be considered advertising, even though I have no affiliation or financial interest with fasttech or footoon.

Just noticed a thread in the review section for this, it seems footoon filed a complaint about the product against FT so check with them first for availability before pulling the trigger.

I love my 2 kayfuns, although possibly time for a change. I've a number heavy VG juices that just don't play ball with them. Like you the v4 is far too complicated for what it is so I've never even considered it, or a clone of it. Can you mouth to lung inhale with the Aqua V2 ? This would be a deal breaker for me if not.

I got a clone of the Aqua V2 during the week and will be attempting my first build on it tonight. I'm going to try a dual coil set up. Any tips ? No need to tell me about building the actual coils as I'm well versed with building kayfuns so I'm not a novice. I'm more interested in where to place the wick, how to place the coils etc

Well it was a bit fiddly and had a couple of go's at installing a dual coil setup. Managed it and running at 0.9 ohms. My first set of wicks were drying out too quick. A quick search on youtube recommended that the ends of the wicks need to be trimmed down a bit so that when they are inserted in to the juice channels there isn't too much cotton in there. Having done that it seems to be running fine now. I'll give it a few days but I don't appear to be getting as much vapour in comparison to my single coil kayfun setup. My guess is I need to reduce the ohms by having less wraps on my coils so they don't take as long to heat up.

I do like the way I can fill it up without having any screwdrivers though. I've had zero leaks which is great and I also like the fact you can close down the air holes to lessen any chance of it leaking in the first place. Nice atomizer. Not bad for £25.
