Can anyone please tell me if you must present a vehicle registration certificate for the NCT. I've lost mine and have the test in the morning. Will I be refused without it?

At this stage you'd forefit the test fee if you cancelled or didn't turn up so you may as well turn up for the test.

Anecdotally NCTS don't always look for it and cars have passed without it being checked. If the car is already on their system you'd probably be ok.

Worst case possibly being the car could be tested but the NCT cert wouldn't be issued until you came back with the missing vehicle registration/licencing cert either having found it or got a replacement from Shannon.

as far as i know yes you need the cert.i got my car and the wifes car tested within 2 weeks of one another in may and both times i had to present each cars cert and show a valid id. but you could ring the nct head office first thing and explain and they might waiver it as long as you have id with you. worth a shot?

Go test it anyway. Worst case they won't give you the disc until you produce.
    Then get a replacement VRC.
