Hi all. I've adopted an Anime meetup group, and wondering if anyone has experience trying to get permission to screen anime to public groups in Ireland?

    Regards.

You could drop an email to the distributor of the show/film in question with an expected audience size and date/time, asking them if it's ok.

Try to give a few weeks lead time at least (they might want to send some promotional material along), and prepare a backup in case of a strong "no". Occasionally, you'll get no response, or the company in question's distribution rights have expired, so it falls back to the Japanese company (and they will almost certainly not respond - interpret that how you like).

That's more or less the process used for anime conventions.

Here is a really good site with contact info for the major distributors: https://awsketchblog.wordpress.com/screening-permissions-guide-for-anime-clubs/
