Hi there I have a 2005 mitsubishi lancer and the clutch pedal is squeaking like its rubbing off something, this happens even if the car is off anyone any idea what it would be?

Sounds like the spring that pulls the pedal back out is just creaking.

The fact you can hear it with the engine off would suggest that to me.

Yeah that sounds right, if that was the case it wouldn't be much to worry about?

I would say.......nope! I have it on my car too. A couple of years.

Just have a look under the footwell if you're worried. It'll probably still be golden coloured. You should see it attached to the pedal. It's not a sign it's about to break.

If it's annoying, some WD-40 sprayed onto it will stop the squeaking.
