Anyone get one ? I see them advertised on DD and wonder are they any good . I might get the father a present of one instead of pumping at his stage of life !
Does the battery put much extra weight into it ? Thanks

If the pumping is getting to be a chore then id say carrying it isn't much fun either..

One group I deal with have one of these for use and it makes easy work out of spraying for anyone..

Thanks Brian , that one looks good but it wouldn't be ideal for between the drills of spuds or rougher spots .

They are very handy but have one major fault. You have to recharge and discharge the battery every so often, esp during winter time....so in effect you have to fill it up with water and 'pretend' you are spraying for the length of the battery life which in reality is impractical as with the better ones the battery life lasts for 7 or 8 full cans of liquid.

Would he work a quad sprayer instead? Got the small draper 37l on here, around €120, just put a cig lighter plug on the end of it and throw it into the back of the jeep and throw the arm out the window with the lance and drive around doing it. Cover an awful lot of ground in no length and no lifting or pumping or anything else.

Pipes good and long o so you can pull up jump out and do a bit if you'd a clump or something!

I've only heard a few reviews about them but all are positive bar the fact that the battery needs to be kept charged at all times when not in use - why I don't know.
They are supposedly light and far more efficient regarding the amount of chemical used. The price tag is fairly saucy though.

I could see how they'd be better for chemical application.
It would work away and keep full pressure which creats the proper atomisation to disperse the chemical. I think were all guilty of letting the pressure fall off when having to constantly pump the knapsack.

Actually I gave mine away, I just use a 10l garden sprayer for small jobs, since my accident I just couldn't manage a knapsack sprayer. Lad came to borrow it and I just gave it to him.
