Toyota Yaris exhaust issue - New exhaust, or not?

The exhaust on my Mum's 2001 Yaris has has just snapped/corroded just before the join at the rear silencer. Is it worth trying to do a spot of DIY these days, or is it off to the local "Fast Fit" for a quote on a whole new exhaust system?

In the past I would now be cutting up a baked beans tin, a small metal bar, + nicking a wire coat hanger from the wardrobe, then seeing if the was any "gungum" left in a tin in the garden shed :)

Fast Fit or the like should replace a section of the exhaust quite reasonably, as opposed to the whole thing back to the manifold.

Try Advance pitstop or you could go to a local breakers yard for spare parts

Got the middle box done on the mothers car in fast fit for 40. It's an Oxy weld you want so ring ahead and find out when the welder is in. My effort with a little stick welder only held out a few weeks before it went again 3 days before the NCT!

Waste of time you'll only end back where you started go to exhaust centre it be cheaper in long run
