Hi, I've to renew my learner's permit and I was wondering, do I have to go to my nearest centre or can I go to a centre of my choice?

I ask because the appointment list for my nearest centre isn't available until July whereas, I go to Portlaoise this week via appointment.

You can go to whatever centre you like. Also the centres are 50% dedicated to walk ins so even if your closest is booked out, you can still get seen to quite quickly as a walk in.

Would I? Well that's grand then. Saves me having to go to Portlaoise then. Cheers!

Go to wherever you want, forms are sent of to be processed in Cork anyway.

Unlikely, I walked into the Limerick centre last week and had to wait 3 hours. Be prepared for this OP just in case.
