Both look as if they come from the same factory. Lidl one however comes with 4GB memory card and batteries. Thats worth the extra tenner.

Think the video on the Audi one says that card and batteries are included! Might be mistaken though! Also think Aldi one has invisible flash! Once again, could be mistaken! Lol:D

Tried to get one in Wexford too, no luck. Has anyone tried theirs out? Worth buying next time theyre available?

The picture quality is very good but they pick up the movement of the grass and trees in windy conditions,,position of the camera is very important, these cameras are worth the money compared to other expensive systems,

+1 to Fabwing's comment. Positioning is vital for this version and I suggest set sensitivity to medium. Clear branches, point away from sun and try avoid blasts of warm breeze.
Having been through a few cameras this one seems to eat batteries. It takes 8 and it was showing low battery after 5 weeks onsite. It had'nt taken that many shots (some nice ones of me walking away and back to it) so potentially the batteries that went into it were ropey.
I have an acorn one onsite and its been emailing me photos for 3 months on one set of batteries. I have another one strapped to a tree on a firebreak for nearly two years, if only I could remember which firebreak and which tree!

What is the cost of the Acorn camera how is it set up to send emails of photos.

I got mine from McL direct in Kildare. They show up at 269e currently. There is a big manual about setting up via an SMTP server etc etc. I got bored in minutes and just plugged in a payg vodafone sim card. So it sends me pictures via email and mms. Its worth pointing out that if leaving in position for months you need to top up the payg sim card. This can be done once sim card is registered to your ccard but to do this you need to put sim card into an unlocked or vodafone mobile to receive an initial text code.

The acorn version seemed easier to set up than a suntek version I got from china. The suntek required me getting all manner of codes from meteor and it would work with any other provider.

I have to say I enjoy rocking up to a trail cam in the field and downloading the sd card onto laptop. There is a sense of anticipation waiting to see what wandered by. However its also great to get an email image of animals delivered straight to your phone. That livens up a boring day in the city everytime.
