    hello

I am currently a qualified adult on my partners job seekers allowance payment and applying from a job. normally i am a full time student and not working and if i do get the job i applied for it will just be for the summer. i was wondering if my earnings would be assessed weekly or yearly ? i will more the likely be working a different amount of days and hours from week to week and am very confused on how i would be assessed.

Weekly, they let you keep 20 euro for every day worked up to 3 days, so if you work more than 3 days they won't give your partner anything for you. Then they take 60% of the difference,so lets say you earned 100 euro, you keep 20 and that leaves 80 so 60% of 80 euro is 48 euro so for earning 100 euro so you would actually earn 52 euro for the day...

Hope this helps, i was in the same situation but had to give up work as i ended up working for nothing when i took the cost of travel into account, so do the math first..

What upinthesky said is incorrect... your means from employment will be assessed against your partners claim. It doesnt matter how many days you work your partner will still get an adult dependant rate for you. You will have to submit payslips from your employer.

Really, this is how they did it for me and my partner was claiming for me, I earned a total of 1500 the time I was in employment and they took 600 of that as means..

Well if they did then it was incorrect. Unless he was on jobseekers benefit and if the Adult Dependant earns over €300 pw then the partner would'nt get ADA.
