From Heuston, How can the 15.10 train which makes many stops get into Waterford almost as fast as the 16.15 train which only makes 2 stops.

Don't really get what you want to know but the 16.15 service was added without a new timetable and there is around 8 minutes added onto it for operational reasons. If things go to plan it arrives at 18.03.

Not going into Kilkenny saves 15 minutes but for operational reasons it only saves around 7.

The service was only supposed to be a once off.

The line a single track for much of its length - maybe it has to wait in a passing loop to pass an oncoming train?
