In Carlow check our the arboretum for lunch and a walk about, nice garden area. Ducketts Grove is a nice place to see too.

The tea rooms in Duckett's Grove will be open tomorrow and unlikely to be as crammed as the Arboretuem ;) If you are in Duckett's Grove , you could consider Rathwood, which is also a garden centre like the Arboretum but never as packed and it has a falconry , a maze in the shape of Ireland and is next door to a chocolate factory, what's not to love!!!

Where will you be travelling from?

What are your interests, by the way?

Ok , travelling from Naas will bring you close to the Moone and Castledermot high crosses, all worth a look. Are you heading to Carlow town itself? If not, you could detour from Castledermot to Duckett's Grove and then head straight for Rathwood, or if Rathwood isn't your kind of thing, you'd do worse to the nearby Iron Age hill fort at Rathgall, which is aligned with Spinan's Hill near Baltinglass.
