Hi all. I'm looking for a mitre saw with at least 6 inches of clearance. The only one I can find is called an "Evolution". I've never heard of them and I'm a bit wary. Does anyone have one? Any good? Any other suggestions?

    Hehe :)

    go there and do that!!

I have the evolution fury which i bought for laying wood flooring. Best buy in a long time. And cuts through anything.

Well worth what i paid for it. No regrets.

I have the evolution rage and find it very awkward to use. Unlike my other circular saw, the handle is on the left which for me makes it impossible to see what I am doing. Maybe that's just me?

I also have an Evolution rage and find it a terrific saw.

And me. The fury is a good intermediate saw for general jobs but its accuracy isn't great. I ignore the built in laser and check the alignment with a square before each use. With my saw, square is just to the right of zero... irritating but ok for the jobs I use it for.

It needs clamping down if not permanently fixed and longer work needs additional support.

    TT

I've got an evolution stealth. It's a bit small but I only really bought it with 2" box iron in mind. Works OK. The angle stops are a little off but eeeh...

It was a steel cutting chop saw for 50 euro.. Couldn't lose

Ive an evolution brand circular saw, Im happy with it, Id consider a mitre saw in that brand, but I dont do enough DIY stuff to justify it, so I'll probably go for the LIDL parkside brand.

Where can I get a 180/185 mm blade for the evolution or any good quality 180/185mm blade?
Mine is a bit rough from sawing through wood and nails, I'll still keep the old blade for rough work but it isnt very fine for neat work as Ive cut so much rough wood up using it that had nails in.

I'd say you might get one in McQuillans. They're a dear shower but.

I dont go into town (the City/Dublin city) anymore, I probably wouldnt go into McQuillans specifically to buy.
I checked out the local B&Q, fairly pricey on that kind of stuff, but they didnt even have spare blades. I might try a local chadwicks or other builders merchants.
Unless someone has any other options?
    Maybe adverts,

You can buy from McQuillans online, and they have a shop in Blanchardstown.
