    Hi

Fretwimps Bergeon thread set me thinking on tools and suchlike, I thought I would start a new thread on a place I found so maybe it would be seen generally.

I found a place on the quays in Dublin, just a small doorway really on Aston Quay to be specific
    Dix Jewellery equipment..
They have a whole range of watch repair stuff including decent spring bar removers, case back removal tools, bracelet holders and loupes etc etc
The guy at the counter was very interesting, knew his stuff. I thought it was an amazing little place.
Maybe everyone knows about it already, but if not, its well worth a look, I think they have a decent website too, googlify Dix Equipment Dublin

Thanks for that - I minor definition of heaven is the idea of having a high st shop where you could just walk in and buy a Bergeon spring bar tool at a reasonable price (and they have the replacement ends availabile separately) not to mention all of the other stuff. Just remember that prices are ex VAT.

    I bought this:
    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-5-Pieces-Lot-New-Watch-Band-Strap-Springbar-Watch-tool-Stainless-Steel-Replace-Watch/1743858662.html

5 springbar tools for €3.66 delivered. Always handy to have a few lying around the office, home etc. if I need to set the date (pusher) or remove a bracelet.

Had thought I'd need an ultra-thin Bergeon tool to remove my Speedmaster's bracelet but just discovered that's not true - the 80c tool works great.

Of course the workmanship's obviously not as good as a 6111/6767F and I believe 1 or 2 had some metal still stuck on the tips. Nothing I couldn't pick away with a fingernail however. It does the job however at the fraction of the cost of a Swiss tool.
