Hi, not entirely sure if this is the right place to post. My mum will contact the Accountant next week but in the meantime. . . My mum has an employee, a farm labourer. Last year he was put on a three day week, and three weeks ago on a one day week. He is now asking to be made redundant and for a redundancy payment. Is he entitled to ask for this if there is still work available for him one day a week?

For a quick answer which I am fairly sure is yes they can, ring National Employment Rights Authority NERA or ring Citizens Information. I would imagine that is where the employee got the info too, employee is protecting their rights by doing this.
