Hello, this forum has always had a good rep for info an guidance.

I am having an issue with an Online retailer from the UK

    Short Story:
    I purchased a graphics card 18months ago. £479
    It went faulty.
    The retailer RMA'd the card.
The retailer suggested a slower card as a replacement.
I declined the replacement, I asked for credit so add to it and purchase a better card
The retailer said take the suggested card or a refund of £100+vat

    Long story:

I have posted to their forum to see if I could get a better outcome.

Please let me know what my options are if the play hardball

    Thanks

    Ger

One of my friends had exactly the same sort of issue with hardwareversand.de. He RMA'd the card in after a year to the retailer after a year of ownership (who then sent it to EVGA) and the they took a excessive amount of time to repair the card so the retailer offered him a €200 refund off of a €360 card.

I did a good bit of research on consumer rights and you are very nicely protected under them. Any replacement item they offer you must be of similar performance to the one you originally had. Any repair that takes place must be within a 4 week window. I wouldn't let them fob you off with the nonsense that they are feeding you about the card being end of life - Under both EU and Irish consumer law, you are effectively covered for what the reasonable lifespan of the card is.
