Hey there, wonder if ye might help me on this - really irritating...
Space is completley used up on my phone and I can't find where the culprit is...
Literally hardly any music/photos on my phone just a reasonable amount of apps.

So I have checked every folder only has a few megabytes, so where is my 9 gigs?
I also tried space analysing apps and they show that my phone is full but cannot find the real problem, just thow up some pdfs etc that I should delete...

???? Feck. Maybe the hard drive has a problem. (Galaxy s4).
    Thanks for any advice...

Well first of all is it a 16gb S4? If so you should have more space than 9 gig. Have you got videos?

No videos, 350mB of music, 250 mB ebooks...

Go into Settings then Storage and take a screenshot of that there and pop it up.

So it looks like your apps are using the space, over 5gig. Also clearing the cached data would free up 1gig.

Thanks I see that now... so started uninstalling stuff... but I still can't understand how they are eating up the space and how I can tell which app is worst...

Go into settings, then into applications, then application manager you can go through each app one by one and see the space used for each one.

Yeah all the google stuff is embedded you can only uninstall the updates.

You need to root the phone to uninstall them.

The likes of Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, IG and Chrome can run up massive data stores, so check what they're using up. I've had a 7gb Twitter app before.

The S4 appears to present only that portion of the internal storage's space not allocated to Android, a.k.a. "System" when operating as a USB disk, hence the 9.24GB - my one is exactly the same, and is the 16GB model.

Thanks for your help... They all read an average of about 30mB each app. Seems to be s*!@ load of bloatware too...

Bit of a joke how over 40% of your non-expandable storage is taken up by Samsung's ****ty OS.

S7 will have a disclaimer than only 1.2gb of memory is available to the user :pac:

Have a look to see if you have a big CloudAgent folder.

Google "dump logcat samsung". It explains how by using a menu you get by dialling *#9900# on your Samsung device can clear up some memory and speed up your phone. Worked a treat on my wife's s3 which had become really sluggish.
