I need help with my car. I can be driving & the anti skid/power steering/ urgent stop/ check engine/ break lights all come on. I watch the RPM & speed odometer gages go to 0 but I still have power. This has happened 3 times & each time I have pulled over & switched it off. When I start it back it will not go into gear. I have had to disconnect the battery cable in order to get the car in gear. I did not have any trouble at all out of this car until I had the break pads changed. Now it just keeps going crazy. Any advise would be greatly appreciate.

Did it start immediately after the brakes were done? If so, it could be caused by a loose connection to the abs/wheel speed sensor on one or more of the wheels. My feeling would be that there is probably only one simple fault causing all the symptoms.

Also, if your car is an automatic, the gear changes are electronically controlled and weird feedback from a simple problem like the abs could be the cause. I tried led bulbs in my auto jeep and it refused to select top gear when the lights were on. The problem went away as soon as I put traditional bulbs back in.

It started doing all this about a week after I had the break pads changed. Thank you for your help
