    hi
i have an 08 astra and when i called out to my uncle today (who used to be a mechanic in the army) he asked me to pop the hood and he looked at my oil switch which seemed to be leaking a small bit. he said he was talking to a mechanic and this seems to be a regular thing in opels?? anyone who fixes cars, is this something that is common knowledge and if so should i go back to the opel garage i bought it from and get them to sort it out??

1.4 petrol? It's a very common issue with them yes.

Did you purchase it recently? If it is still under warranty then I am sure they will sort it out.

Either way a new switch is very cheap and easy to fit so you aren't going to be out of pocket by a whole lot.
