Bit of a strange question here.

Can you only use the self check kiosks a few hours before your flight.

Travelling with Mum who is a nervous flyer and wants to be checked in well ahead of time to make sure we get seats together etc.

Anyway, I know you can check in online and print, but we will be in Dublin airport the afternoon before our flight the next day as we are meeting others there.

Can we use the self check kiosks then to check in for flight the next day i.e. does it work like online checkin

Was thinking it was a better options than trying to do it and print off in hotel etc.

You can check in online and still collect boarding passes at the airport/kiosks when you arrive there so there's no need to print them off in the hotel.

Remember if you try selecting seats more than 30 hours before departure, they'll charge you for the pleasure and you'll still need to do check in anyway!

    1. If your flight is between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. the next day, you can physically check-in in the airport and drop your bags off between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. the previous evening.

if that doesn't suit then there is another option ....

    2. You (or a friend from their home) can check-in online and elect to pick up the boarding passes at the airport on the day, either at one of the green kiosks or a check-in desk. This is simply a process to reserve the seats but leave the collection of the boarding passes to when you get to the airport.

So when you say you're in a hotel the previous evening, I'm assuming that you won't have a laptop or similar gadget to do an online check-in but there's nothing to stop a friend from doing this from their own home i.e. doing the check-in and seat selection and selecting the option for you to pick up the boarding pass in the airport the next morning. You just need to give them the booking ref. no., the surname of the person who made the booking and the flight details - departure & arrival airports and flight no.

They can then advise you that you have been checked in so on the morning, you either go to one of the green self-service kiosks (if you've hand baggage only) or a check-in desk and you'll get your boarding passes.
