    Hello all,

Firstly, I hope this is the right place to post this.

Im looking for directions for a journey I have to make on Saturday, July 11th from Dublin 9 (DCU) to Foxrock, Dublin 18.

I was hoping there might be a dart line or something, but I honestly have little to no knowledge of Dublin and transport.

    Any suggestions?

It would very much depend upon where you are going in Foxrock - it's a big area!

Get an 11 bus on Ballymun Road all the way to the Doubletree by Hilton on Upper Leeson St. (formerly the Burlington Hotel), then get off and wait for either a 46A or 145, get off at Foxrock Church.

But as above, state exactly where in Foxrock you want to get to.

The 63 route will drop you at the Carrickmines (southern) end of Brighton Road but it only runs every 45 minutes on a Saturday morning whereas the 145 runs every 15 minutes so I'm going to stick with the 11 & 145 suggestion with the following modification....

Get off the 145 at the next stop after Foxrock Church, follow the bus on foot to the traffic lights at the junction with Westminster Road and cross the N11. Walk down Westminster Road (1.1 km) as far as Foxrock village. Turn left at that junction and you're on Brighton Road.

You can also switch between the 11 and 145 at other bus stops such as the one at the top of Kildare St.

The OP could also take the 9 and 13 to D'Olier Street and catch the 145 or 46a from there too

Another option is to take the 4 from DCU to the first stop on Monkstown Avenue, then cross the road and take the 63 to the junction on Brighton Road.

As others have mentioned, the 63 is not that frequent, so you may be best with coylemj's suggestion of the 145.

You could also get the green Luas to carrickmines and walk back Brighton road. Probably a 15 minute walk

Take the number 11 from Stop number 37 on Ballymun road as far as Stillorgan Heath, Blackthorn Avenue stop number 7057. then walk around the corner and take the Green line Luas from Stillorgan to Carrickmines and Either walk from between 6 and 22 minutes depending on where on Brighton Road you are going or take the number 63 bus Towards DunLaoighre from Glenamuck Road stop number 7373 which goes along Brighton Road.

You should also get yourself a Leap Card if you don't already have one. you should be able to get one in DCU students union shop or in the Eurospar on Ballymun road near the bus stop.
