    Hello

I studied languages in college and I'm interested in maybe working in the department of foreign affairs or in an embassy. Thing is I have no idea how to get a job somewhere like that. Where are they advertised? Any tips on where I should apply or keep an eye out?

Keep an eye on publicjobs.ie They handle most of the competition stages. I think it is 2 years since the last Third Secretary campaign. Lots of people apply for these positions

Thank you. I guess I just have to keep an eye out there so! I wanted to make sure there weren't any other avenues that I had missed.

There's an open competition for AP at the minute.

That doesn't really seem like an entry level position (I am a new graduate) but it provided me with some interesting reading about the structure of the departments and the like so thanks.

AO (administrative officer) positions are your best bet. That is the highest entry level position in the Civil Service and is designed for graduates. It is also the rank just beneath AP.

These vacancies are graduate entry level, might be of interest?

That's an interesting position, thank you for posting. Unfortunately it requires candidates to have a Masters degree but I'm also considering doing one of those next year so this is a great position to know about for the future maybe!

My bad, I saw graduate and didn't investigate further, I didn't realise it meant postgraduate.
