Hiya. I'm looking to get a car for really a maximum of €1400 as I probably could not afford more. It has come to the point where I need a car at the moment but I'm not earning TOO much money..Basically just more than minimum wage.
I don't really mind what it is but if anybody has suggestions where to look I would appreciate it and even better if people give links for me please.

Maybe something like a Fiesta, Astra etc would be possible in that price range. Year of the car doesn't really matter unless is impedes with the performance of it.
    Thanks

OP how you had a car before? Any no claims bonus? Because if not your insurance is going to be significant as well.

Hi sorry I should have mentioned that in the first post.

I have full license for about 6 years and have been driving for about 5 of them years full time. I got rid of the car when I was living in Dublin but I'm stuck for one for the near future now anyway.

Never used any of my no claims bonus.

Your NCB expired if you leave your insurance laps for 2 years or more.

You'll get a golf for that money or much better. One of the facelifted 2002 Corolla's.

It hasn't been near two years since I've been insured so there should be no problem there. I'm fairly stumped in finding something of good value.

That post won't let me edit it. Just to be clear. I've been insured in the last year.

Ford Focus is a good car.

This one looks tidy and has just over 12 months NCT on it:

You'll do well to better this Starlet. If you're on a low wage it also has very low running costs day to day.

Seler wants €895, so you should be able to get it for €800, meaning you still have €600 in your back pocket for whatever. It has 9 months NCT as well, so no hassle till early next year.

It's not the most exciting car, but in your position I'd be looking at getting it. I presume from you're name that you're in Cashel, the Starlet is in Clonmel.
