Hi All. Has anyone done actual DIY divorce (no companies\solc); currently undertaking uncontested diy divorce. I've lodged docs -civil bill; means etc but now I need a notice of motion as ex won't be attending court. Has anyone a template of what this is? I've checked courts website & googled but can only see a notice of motion for judgement; is this same thing. I'm gett I ng frustrated as I just want it to be over & feel the end is in sight but this now a holdup. Any advice appreciated?

    Hi
Does it have to go before the county registrar - ring the courthouse and ask them. Mine did and the lady in the office did up the Notice of Motion for me with the date for the county registrar.

Jawall I went into court office @ Smithfield. The woman emailed me word doc templates that I had to edit with my details/dates etc & format. I think they are actually on courts.ie website. The online templates wouldn't work for me, I couldn't update. You need 3copies. I used mabs template for statement of means & formatted into each section. I think they are on hols until October coz we were hoping it would go through before break- so time to get your paperwork sorted now.

When I had papers ready I'd to go solicitors for affidavits then brought papers into court & got 1st court date. Then had to get more paperwork which they eventually emailed out to me too- ie the notice of motion (org post) id rang & explained how difficult it was to get a template. My ex not in country so no appearance & had to get letter of consent. Id no need for pension order but you prob want that too. You need original marraige cert- I'd to order a copy now.

Id go court twice- only in 5mins each time asked date of split/ no kids/house but waiting an hr or two outside. My divorce was granted at start of July, huge relief!
I think it took about 4mths but we had a delay with paperwork. It only cost me the solicitor signing/postage/stationary fees prob about €100 but it was hassle!
It was uncontested, no kids, no house.
    Good Luck!
