Killer Cooker!

Looking for advice on a ?make-up air unit...I think.

I have just replaced extraction unit to a more powerful one to go with the gas cooker that I have ordered (cooker not installed yet). I've just been told that this will be quite dangerous as the house is air tight...of course now that it has been explained this makes sense as the gas cooker will use up air, the extraction fan will remove more and no air will be replaced...eek! Have not received an answer yet from cooker company, has anyone had to fix this problem before?

The google tells me I should have a unit that works in tangent with the extraction fan but that also keeps the house air tight when not in use. Can only find mention of this on US sites.

    Thanks.

Might be be a bit thick but does your ventilation system not bring in fresh air ? - do you have a vent into the kitchen area ,

    No vent in the kitchen.

I think it has to do with the removal of oxygen from the kitchen when using the extractor combined with using gas - this oxygen needs to be replaced ? at the same rate...I could have this wrong but it does sound correct. The gas will need oxygen replaced to work properly and I will need oxygen replaced to work properly ; ) but what will do this and keep the house air tight?

This doesn't make sense. How is the house ventilated and how airtight is the house?
