Hi..... Cant seem to find any info regarding my situation. Recently my wife has left the home due to court order (Never to return). I am now primary care giver to my 4 children. I am currently receiving Job Seekers benefit. My question is , Should I be applying for a different type of payment now I can no longer go back to work due to the care of the kids. I have applied for the children's allowance but this will take some time to be approved. Kind Regards

One parent family allowance sounds like what you need

you should without a doubt look into changing over your payment to the one parent family payment

if you have children attending school you will be entitled to back to school allowance too. I would suggest contacting treoir as they will help you figure out what you will be entitled too.

best of luck with it all

If you are married you have to be separated 3 months before you can apply for One parent family and your youngest child needs to be under 7 years of age.
