Range Rover 5 seat commercial

Can anybody definitively tell me if a Range Rover can be converted and taxed as a goods vehicle and retain 5 seats. I am VAT registered and have another vehicle, a 110 defender taxed privately. I have been told that when taxing it for the first time you must prove you have 4 employees. This seems illogical to me. Most vans can take 1 to 2 passengers max. So why would there be a rule that says 4 employees are needed to tax a crew cab? I could understand a minimum of 2 employees.
    Does anybody know the answer?

quite obviously that rule is to stop people taxing crew cabs as commercials and using them as private cars

It only serves to penalise employers with more than 1 but less than 4 employees. It seems that some tax offices don't insist on it and the declaration form from the Garda station doesn't mention numbers of employees.

It depends on your tax office.
I normally went to the roscommon tax office as they let you away with a lot more than the galway one for instance

Some insist on specific documents for crew cabs, none of which are legally required.

I did not have to prove I had employees after I converted my ML.
