Hi, i m hoping someone can help. Last night the pipes hear my toilet started to vibrate. This can happen occasionally so i flush my toilet again and usually it stops but not last night. It kept humming away. So i got a screwdriver and turned the pressure down on the water going into toilet tank. The vibrating stopped. Went to bed delighted...this morning when i flushed the toilet it keeps filling up and wont stop even when i lift the ball cock..it drips water constantly into the toilet pan..ive put water pressure back up but it makes no difference..cant understand why the change in water pressure would suddenly affect the fill value and ball cook

Most likely to be the rubber diaphragm inside the ball cock in the cistern needs to be replaced.
That or a new filling valve.

The filling valve is called a Torbeck and no other rubber seal will fit other than the one made for it and they cost approx 4 euro.
Turn off the water, unscrew large blue nut and remove the rubber diaphragm.
Remove the gauze filter behind it, clean it and refit.
Fit a new rubber diaphragm, being very careful to locate the steel pin correctly through the small plastic ring.
Reassemble float section, being careful not to damage or dislocate the hinged part.

You didn't reduce the pressure, only the flow.

Sorry u are right...i reduced the flow..could this have had an impact on the diaphragm...cant get my head around the fact i reduced the flow...and next morning my fill value doesnt work...isn't it too much of a coincidence for the diaphragm to go just after i fiddled with the flow..
