Security check in Friday morning/Ryanair

    Hi guys,

I have never traveled with Ryan Air and my question is:

After checking in and having the boarding pass ready and printed, I only need to go through the Security check and then to the gate right?

I have two options (flying from Dublin):
I either arrive in Dublin 6.30 or 8.20 (Flight departs 9.20)

I would love if I arrive at 8.20, go to the security check and straight to the gate.

But would I might get caught in queues etc?
Its a Friday morning, so not sure if:

-it will be busy at the airport
-when Ryan Air closes the gate

Would you reckon I'm ok with arriving at 8.20 at the Airport for my 9.20 flight or going there earlier?

    Thanks!

If you arrive at the airport at 8.20 already checked in, you have plenty of time to catch your 9.20 flight.

    if being the operative word

should the bus get stuck in traffic somewhere along the line you'd be leaving it very tight.

I would give your self a bit more time.

Your only a hour before your departure. What happens if your lift to the airport is delayed? It will be rush hour and it might take longer to get to the airport.

Before 40 minutes before your flight you can not get past security as they say you do not have enough time. Its a stupid system but thats what the powers that be say.

Security is busy in the morning. On a Friday in the summer it would be even more busy.

Personally I would arrive at 6:20 walk through security get breakfast and just enjoy the airport for the two hours. I have done the run to the plane twice in the past and to be honest its not worth the pressure.

    thanks for the input!

I hoped I would be able to stay 2 hours longer in bed since the earlier bus would leave at 3.00 in the morning haha

But it makes sense that there could be some traffic or other delays and if they won't let you go through security 40 mins before the flight departs, I only have 10-15 mins left which could get to tight alright.

Will aim for the earlier arrival so, thanks again! :)

The security queues can be very unreliable, arriving at the airport with only an hour to departure is cutting it too tight.
If your printed off boarding pass doesn't scan for some reason, and some don't, you would have to go over to the Ryanair counter to get it sorted.

Have to agree that 1 hour is a little bit tight, you'd be fine with 90 minutes though I think. Ryanair sometimes will close the gate a good 10 mins before take off (although I've found that to be rare) so better to give yourself some breathing room. If you want to stick to your 1 hour before plan, definitely buy fast pass security.
