Car seat in ford mondeo

Hey we have a ford mondeo which we are trying to install a car seat in using a seatbelt but none of the back seat seat belts will lock off??! Anyone got any advice? It works in our other car (pull the seatbelt out fully slowly then retract etc to switch to automatic lock rather than emergency) but will not work in ford
