If you got a summons you must attend. But contact the insurer first. They will tell you what solicitor is dealing witht he case. They really should have contacted you already.

When you say a summons do you mean a Civil Bill [It will say on the document] or a witness summons ?

If it is a Civil Bill get it off your hands pronto by giving it to your motor insurers or proceed as per Little CuChulainn. You must deal with it straight away.

If it is a witness summons you must attend court according to what the summons says. Any chance that the other motorist was prosecuted in the District Court and that this is an appeal ?
