How to travel with peroxide blonde hair?

So I have peroxide blonde hair, the real white color(I cant help it, I love it)! I have to get it done every six weeks as I naturally have mousey brown hair, the standard Irish look. I also user purple shampoo every second wash to keep it white. So it is pretty high maintenance.

As I plan to go travelling Asia and NZ in September I have been growing it long so I can have plaits and ponytails in the heat but I haven't changed my color at all. Now I am starting to panic as I will not be getting to a hairdresser during that time.

What could I do, let it grow out and hope the balyage look takes over or try and tone it down before I go but try and keep it somewhat blonde?

Has anyone had this issue before or done something similar in such a short timeframe?
