Quick question for anyone with recent experience.

What is the quickest way to get money from my AIB account to Canyon in Germany. Is a bank transfer the quickest way? Is there a large cost associated with this?

Bank transfer is the quickest way. I paid via bank transfer 3 years ago and it didn't cost that much, 50 cent or something like that.

Would AIB debit/credit card not be the quickest?

i bought from them last november and had to do a transfer also.my debit card would not allow more than 1500 euro per transaction and canyon wont allow the payment in two seperate tranactions so bank transfer was the only way for me as i dont use a cc.cost of the transfer was small

As canyon are in the euro zone, the cost of a transfer to them is the same as a transfer to someone in Ireland.

They also do Paypal, though credit card is a a pre-requisite for that.

Ordered April 30, delivery slotted in for week 27, which I am presuming to be the last week in June. Endurance CF 9.0

I don't know anything about AIB. I use BOI. On 360online (the BOI online website) I set up online payees when buying bicycle wheels and camera lenses in UK pounds. It too a few days to activate those payees.
I think if I was paying in Euros it would have been quicker on 365online, but I have never had to set up a payee in Euros as all my purchases from Euroland were by credit card.

Many thanks for all your input. I'll pop down to my local bank in the morning. Germans love bank transfers apparently, very popular over there. Cash on delivery (COD) is huge there as well, it's a pity it's never been adopted over here.

I have a Canyon Aeroad due for delivery in July. I intend to part fund it with the cycle for work scheme does anyone have any experience doing this with Canyon.

I've bought a bike from Canyon using the BTW scheme but it was a case of canyon sending me an invoice and then the accounts people taking care of the rest. I.E. Send Canyon the full amount and then some jiggery pokery for me.

As you have bought the bike and paid for it? Then it's down to you and the company you work for to figure something out I'd think.

Our accounts department are fairly easy going so they probably weren't "reading from a manual" to help me.

I just took the full hit in one month and lived on beans and toast for the next 6. It was worth it though.

Quick question on paying Canyon by credit card.

Does the money go to Canyon straight away when you order or do they take payment when bike is shipping to you?

Found this on there site so that answers my question

    Advance payment:
If your bike is available within the next three weeks, shortly after being sent an automatic order confirmation you will receive a pre-payment invoice. In order to expedite a smooth processing of your order, please remit payment stating your customer and order number at least seven working days prior to the advised delivery date of your bike. As soon as the payment has been received, your bike will be immediately sent to you. If you have chosen a bike with a delivery date which exceeds three weeks, you will receive an order confirmation immediately upon receipt of your order, and around three weeks before the scheduled delivery date a separate pre-payment invoice. After you have received your invoice then please proceed as described above.

I bought a CF SLX from Canyon on the BTW, Canyon set it up as a prepayment order. The company transferred the BTW amount and I transferred the balance, very easy.
