    I'm looking for a 2007-2008 3.0 3/6 Series Coupe Auto.

Missed a beauty yesterday on DoneDeal when the lad sold it despite me making arrangements to come & see it today.

Anyone know of anything tidy around that's not up on DoneDeal?

Does it have to be auto?

Yes, has to be auto, it's the only job in big engined BMW's!

Well that's not the case if you're interested in the 335i. The manual is a much better option compared to the auto in that.

Yeah, you're probably right there. Leaning away from the 335 due to turbo problems & MPG. Not overly bothered about MPG as its a second car, but I've had enough problems with turbos to last me a lifetime!

If you got one that had both turbos replaced you'd be fine.

You sound like you have something in mind for me! ;-)

Keep an eye on BMWHaus and Driver's Adverts sections. I know of a 335i Auto that may be going up for sale soon. Not 100% sure if he's selling or storing though.

Thanks FN. Sure let your contact know that I might be interested.

That 335 is a lot of money just for the emissions based tax rate.

Glad you think that 3 is overpriced - thought the same myself. I'd definitely be interested in it at a more sensible price though. Would offering €13k for a straight deal be very cheeky?

I'd say you could offer away but I'd doubt you'll be driving home in it at that price. There is a trade off between cheap tax cars and older ones. Post 2007 cars like that cost more to buy whereas the older higher tax cars tend to cost less to buy. Not alot of 2008 or newer 335i about so dealer maybe prepared to sit on it for a while rather than let it go cheap.

Yeah, but it's only €300 cheaper to tax than a '07, and that one is a little leggy.

I know this one is a bit older but it seems a better value proposition?

But the 08 cheap tax car also resells at a higher price. I would pay the extra, less tax/nct costs

This thread is obviously reflective of the general market. WTF would someone pay €5k extra to save €300 pa on motor tax? It makes no sense (unless you plan to drive the car for the next 20 years!).....

E300 is as good as nothing, with the figures we are talking, to run these cars... total waste of money, would be different if going from E1494 or E1809 down to E570 etc...

if the extra E5000 was being borrowed, the loan interest alone would probably wipe out the E300 motor tax saving...

Off topic, but was there ever a version of the X5 ,3.0 petrol or diesel, with a manual transmission ?

Yes, definitely petrol (I drove one - dog), and I assume diesel too. There wouldn't be too many of them around - why anyone would want one is beyond me.

Just sold my 525D which is a 3L 5 series and I'm kicking myself.
I could be moving back closer to home and keeping an eye out for clean M3s or a nice 335i. Had a drive in the 335i before and the sound is gorgeous even better when you're coming from a 3L diesel.
People always thought I was mad paying the tax but there was about 8k minimum between 07-08 and every time I got into that car it brought a smile to my face.
