3 years i very very stupidly got caught drink driving and was done under the new penalty point system. i was banned for 6 months and paid a fine. What im wondering is, since the whole thing never went to court ,is it classed as a motoring conviction?? I rang the RSA to check had i an endorsment on my license and they told me i didnt, plus i have zero penaalty points!!!!

It's certainly a conviction. Maybe the points and conviction haven't shown up yet? Did you inform your insurance??

Ya I told insurance all. I've been paying fairly hefty insurance rates the last while . But I'm wondering why it hasn't shown up through the RSA . ? After 3 years

Penalty points expire after 3 years.

Were you in court in relation to this?

If u read my first post u will see that I said I wasn't in court . I fell into the bracket where court wasn't required . I submitted my license to the Rsa an paid a fine an got my license back 6 months later

Only the courts can convict. I doubt it counts as a conviction.

Believe it or not a guard told me the exact same thing . I just wanted to hear other people's opinions on this .

    No txt psk pls.

As above, if you weren't in court, then there can be no conviction.

Apologies for text talk :) I had a 50 percent loading on my insurance for my ban/disqualification which isn't too bad I guess .
