For example, I think I may have received 62% in my Geography exam, the project is worth 25% and let's say I get 18%.

Would that raise my 62% grade up to 80% or is there a different way of calculating the raise?

From the way I am reading it....you got 62% of the Geography exam....that is 62% of 75%
That's 46.5 marks for your Geography and the 18 marks for your portfolio....so that's 64.5% over all.

Good practice for the Maths exam.

The exams and projects are marked using marks, not percentages.
Is the project not worth only 100 marks (20%)?

Wow! Really?:confused: that's barely anything, I might as well not have done a project and spent those 3 months studying! Thanks though!

Yeah meant % you get my drift. I think you might be right about 20% for the project.

Yeh you're right, 20% (was thinking of French). But yeah, if it were with marks then: total = 420 (320 from exam and 100 from project) and out of the exam I would have received about 205/320 so in addition to 90/100 (18% of project) = 295/400 x 100 = 70.24%

62% would be 248 marks (of the 400 for the paper)
18 out of 25 would be roughly 72 (of 100 for the project)
    Total 320 out of 500 would be a C2, very close to a C1.

It's not a million miles off a B either - people often mark themselves too hard. Don't worry anyay, nothing to be gained by worrying now.

Well then you would have got 0 out of 100, and basically be marked out of 400 or 80%

So assuming you're somewhat accurate in saying you got 62% or 248 marks in the paper, that would translate to 49.6% overall!

So yes, it was worth your while submitting your project! ;)
