Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Is there a 'best' time to place bets?

i.e. if prices go up for races the night before for the following afternoon's horse racing, should I place my bets the night before, or that morning ... and if so, early in the morning or closer to the race start time, or does it matter? I know it depends on how good value you think the prices are, but I'm just wondering…

I know it depends on how good value you think the prices are, but I'm just wondering is there a general rule in relation to this, i.e. when are you most likely to get the best odds?
