Plenty of other (far cheaper and less hype driven) MMA gyms in and around Tallaght, why not just try out one of those instead of waiting for SBG Tallaght to open?

Edit: This would probably be better in Martial Arts & Self Defence too.

Ye but Ye can't say you train with Conor mcgregor if you train in another gym

SBG, everyone wants to train there because they think they'll be sparring with McGregor.
I'm not saying SBG have bad coaches and facilities, I'm saying they are overpriced, with rude staff and a bad rep.
I've a few mates that used to go there and a few that are looking for new gyms to train in.

But hey, if ya wanna join a waiting list to pay €140 a month for 2 classes a week than go for it. I've found they attract a certain type of person anyway. ;)

I reckon you'll be looking at Aug/Sep at this stage. I'd say something might be announced once Paddy's clear of UFC Glasgow.

Of course, you're more than welcome to call down to SBG Concorde in the mean time or perhaps check out the varying, other, cheaper gyms about the place. Which is strange, because I haven't seen any prices for SBG Tallaght announced. Cheaper gyms abound , for sure. SBG itself started small, in a shed, decades ago. However, odds are they will not have quite the level of coaching and facilities as SBG. So I guess then you weigh up what you want knowing those facts and make your own mind up. Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your training! :)

The "hype driven" comment is petty and unhelpful.

I was hoping/assuming the cost would be less than the long mile road membership as I can't see too many tallaght local being able to afford €110 per month. (don't mean any offence to tallaght people)

Having said that it is the same price then so be it. I wouldn't criticise anyone for choosing a price point to maximise profits. It's not a charity after all.

Dunno who you've been speaking to, but those figures are wrong and it's kinda slanderous to be putting incorrect information out there with the overt purpose of throwing mud on our name. If anyone has had any staff be 'rude' to them, I'm sure there's two sides to those stories and it isn't quite as black and white as you're painting it to be. Our hundreds of quite pleased members would very much vouch for this.

I think you'll actually find our reputation is as one of, if not the, top martial arts gym in the country. It's a place where you can follow a path to a fighting career or train for fun and fitness. What you WON'T find is beginners being thrown in with pro fighters, such as Conor, from the get go. Because that would be negligent. We take complete beginners who might eventually train alongside the pros in the advanced classes - like me. I started as a 20 stone fat man about 5 years ago and am now a purple belt, coach and not 20 stone anymore. I can't put into money what I've got from not just training , but also from the people in this club.

Train wherever you want, promote your other, cheaper clubs if you want. But don't slander others just to promote your business at their expense. Because people see through bullsh*t. Funny how you talk about us attracting a certain type of person - your type is the exact type we try and keep out of the club, to keep the atmosphere and the vibe welcoming for all.

    Have you heard anything since?
Still no mention of potential opening on their Facebook.

Posted shortly after you asked on here, monkey8.....

"All updates regarding address and opening dates will be posted here. We've encountered more problems than anticipated finding the right unit but when we do we've everything set up for a quick turn around and opening. Starting a new business is just like a fight or like life has its ups and downs. The important lesson is to learn from the knock backs and persevere until the job is done! We'll get there and when we do this is the place you'll read about it first. - John Kavanagh"
