You can see the downstream sn margin isn't good, exchange is around 200 metres from my home

The reason I want it improved is so it can pass a prequal so I can get the 24Mb profile and enable fastpath. I had that profile for years with Eircom but switched provider and have recently switched back again. They wont set it back to the 24meg profile so I'm stuck with interleaving. When it was set to 24Mb ( for 2 or 3 years ) the line never dropped.

Even if the attenuation was several dB higher youd still manage 24Mb, so theres a noise issue.

Have you got a double phone socket in the hallway? If not you need to check filtering.

    Thanks for the replies!

Yeah we got one of those more modern Eircom boxes that allow for both the router and phone.

The router is the silver netopia, it's the same stats on the vodafone or zxyel one

Remove your handset, reboot the modem, wait 60 seconds after sync then check again. If its still reading low then you need to get the line tested and techs sent out.

Tried the above, no change unfortunately.

I`ll give Eircom a ring tomorrow and get a line check done
