I have a iphone 4. Does that work for mobile boarding passes with Ryanair?
I used it earlier this year with Aer Lingus.

The app requirements are for iPhone 5 or better, might work might not.
Compatibility: Requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.

I'd say that's just a recommendation rather then a requirement. Should be fine I imagine. Just download the app and try check in. Once you have your boarding pass you're grand. You can take a screenshot of the boarding pass on the app just in case you find yourself without internet at the airport. I generally do this just in case.

Do you need the app for this ? I didnt in January.

Just check in & IIRC there is an option to have a boarding pass PDF emailed to you. Download & save said PDF.

Warning : I dont do Apple. The above worked with both Android & WindowsPhone

I've just saved PDF to dropbox, will they accept this at the security and the gate?

As long as you can display the QR Code on your phone then it will be fine.

A regular boarding pass in PDF format will not work. It has to have a QR code. I've been stuck behind people at security trying to scan a print at home boarding pass off their screen before.

    That works, i've tried it.

You'll have a problem at the gate though

I used to use PDFs when I had a windows phone. Regular barcode on the boarding pass scanned no bother at both security and boarding gate.

Yep, traveled to London with the app on an iPhone 4. The only issue was at security as the scanner was a bit small but it worked in the end.

Ryanair app has PassBook integration - meaning that boarding pass is easily accessible from your phone screem

Just a quick question(I'm probably on wrong forum.
Going to Malta, what settings should I change on my phone to avoid unnecessary charges. Will only be texting.

    Turn off your mobile data.
