Kicks off on Wednesday June 10th at 9pm

Created by Tony Saint, The Interceptor follows a state of the art law enforcement team, known as UNIT, whose unswerving mission is to hunt down some of Britain’s most dangerous and ruthless criminals. The series is produced by BBC Drama Production in association with BBC Worldwide and stars O.T. Fagbenle (Looking), Trevor Eve (Waking The Dead), Jo Joyner (EastEnders), Robert Lonsdale (From Here To Eternity), Ewan Stewart (Titanic), Lorraine Ashbourne (Playing The Field), Anna Skellern (Heading Out), Gary Beadle (EastEnders) and Lee Boardman (Da Vinci’s Demons).
The eight episode series, which has been described as a “high octane police drama”, has been in the works at the BBC since as far back as 2012 and is based on the memoirs of former customs officer and SOCA agent Cameron Addicott, who served in the “Alpha Projects Unit” before his retirement. That unit, which hunted the UK’s most dangerous criminals by extraordinary means, forms the basis of UNIT in the BBC series. Addicott also serves as a technical consultant on the series. Tony Saint, who was working on the Sky1/Cinemax series Strike Back when The Interceptor was pitched to the BBC, wrote the series; with the greenlight forcing him to step-down as showrunner on Strike Back ahead of its fourth season in early 2013 so as to give his full attention to The Interceptor

Thank god it's not a remake of that Annabel Croft outdoor treasure hunt show from the 80s!

    Looks pretty good...

    in association with BBC Worldwide

I've noticed how new dramas with that credit increasingly tend to be American style "high concept" in nature.

Will Trevor Eve be shouting quite a lot? :D

Are you guys mad?!?! :o:o:o:D

Many consider Interceptor one of the greatest game shows of all time...

I do agree that it shouldn't be remade, though - I don't think it would be quite as fun with all the advances in technology that have been made since 1989. :o:D;)

I've just watched half of the first episode. Seems decent! Plenty of action.

Low grade rubbish really, its very genre bound. You already know the wife/children of the hero will be put in danger at some point.

watched the first 2 episodes but won't be watching anymore, hackneyed, cliched, trying-to-be-70's-cop-show set in modern-day, main character with exactly one facial expression. awful.

Acting in last nights episode was rubbish. Time to give this up I think.

I abandoned ship after two episodes. Hopelessly derivative and clunky.
