Runaround with personality

Need a second small car but I don't want a boring runaround. Looking for something fun just for me. Budget around €5k, no more than 1.6. Preferably petrol, it will be used mainly for driving locally.
I've been looking at things like MX5 but it's hard to find a hard top in my price range.
Nissan Figaro - any ones I've seen have dreaded rust spots. I might even consider a classic.
    Any suggestions ?

You know the hardtop is just an accessory that clips on?

Indeed, but it's an expensive accessory to buy separately. Although I obviously wouldn't let that get in the way of the right car.

Think they go for €200-300 second hand

That's not bad, I figured around €400-500 from what I'd seen online

I just know what my friend bought and sold his for.
    If you're spending €5k, it's only a small thing.
Hard to beat the mx5 with your budget

Have to admit the mx5 is the one that brings a smile, reckon I could have a bit of fun driving one of those around. I've been drooling over this one but I'v emailed the seller several times and got no reply

No phone number, on sale 2 months. I'd forget it.
No change of ownership in the last 3 months though.
