    Hi all,,,,

Have a strange one ere,,,,,went into a retail shop the other day to purchase some clothing,, after finding my liking I tryed it on with that leaving my paper easons bag aside, with the happiness of the fit, I purchased my item and left my paper bag after me,,didn't take much notice later that night next morning on my way back to work overseas I phoned and a woman answered saying she found the bag with my items still inside,, (a fishing mag and 2 lotto tickets,, euro and Irish),,we joked about the fortune i could win and she wrote my sisters name on da paper bag as my sister had agreed for me to pick it up the next day,,when she picked it up she texted me to say there was a mag inside but no tickets,,funny at first but couldn't believe it then when reality hit,,,so I rang 2 days after as I forgot to the first day after due to being busy with work,,, got through to a man who was the owner I think,, he laughed and said that he did not know who the tickets were and he took them from my paper bag and checked them,! Then he said I owe you 3 euro,, that was all that was on them,, cheek off him,,,

Where or what can I do from here, thanks to anyone who took the time to read this
Please move mods if not in right category
    Thanks

    B

I don't imagine you are ever going to see those tickets again.

Sorry, but I think you are just going to have to let this go. You cannot prove you had those tickets. Also, the likelihood you won a huge amount of money is slim.

Take the 3euro and buy three scratch cards.

Worked in retail a long time ago. Not that this exact thing has ever happened but people leave all sorts of things and never come back.

To be honest, leaving an easons bag or a magazine is something people do all the time, like bottles and coffee cups and whatever else lying around. Most of the time they're just not bothered throwing it out.

I wouldn't think much of someone having a flick through a magazine they found lying around or whatever on their lunch. I mean, fair enough, you COULD make a big deal out of this with the ticket, but it's a common occurance in these shops that people just dump stuff and never come back, he probably thought it was another as such and had a nose.

The moral police on here will love this one of course, but as I said. As the shop owner, he's probably picking up things all the time, figured nobody was coming back and decided to have a nose at the tickets. In fairness, if this is your biggest worry in life, I don't think you're doing too bad.

That is why they always say to sign the back of them as soon as you buy them.... unfortunately in this case you have no recourse!
