Vix4 enigma on Alien 2

    Am I the only one who thinks that the Vix4 image is completely bug prone, crashes constantly regardless of what version and is basically pretty but rubbish?

    Every time they bring out a new release I try it. And end up switching back before the day is out to spark. I get that its pretty and has lots of potential for apps etc but it just isnt at all stable? Has anyone had good results with it?

    Vix4 for the Alien 2 isn't an official Vix release ,its a patched image ,mostly using Openatv code I believe .
    Vix dont support the Alien 1 or Alien 2 .

    I havent used Vix4 on the Alien 2 but it seemed stable enough on the Alien 1 when I tried it ,but it did have a few slight bugs but overall I was impressed with it ,but that was about 6 months ago.

    You'd probably be better off posting over on the huge Alien 2 Enigma 2 thread here where you will get more feedback

    I'd recommend Hyperion 4.5 for an Alien 2 ,its the best image in my humble opinion and the receiver performs extremely well running it.

    Cheers I might give it a bash. To be honest Spark is nice and stable and I dont see any benifit using these other images, asides from it looking slightly prettier. But rather something I dont have to reboot a number of times per day. Just curious were others in the same boat on Alien 2

    I agree with Zardoz. Hyp 4.5 is rock solid unless/until I "fix" something :o

    +1 on Zardoz image. Don't fiddle with it too much and its very stable.
