Preserving leaves

My wife to be and i have been discussing what flowers/buttonholes the men should have.
As i am from Derry i would love in incorporate some Oak leaves into the design.
We have mentioned this to our florist, who thinks it is a great idea but has some concerns as we are getting married in September, so the leaves may be starting to turn.

Heres where i need some help.
At the minute the Oak trees are in full bloom, so I am thinking of picking the leaves now and trying to preserve them. I know we can dry them but i want them to be vibrant green and full of life on the wedding day, so that rules drying out of the equation.

    Does anyone have any ideas?
Can you coat them in Wax?
Can you flash freeze them in liquid nitrogen and then thaw them on the day before the wedding?

Im lost, our florist suggested that we use fake oak leaves, but having leaves from an oak tree from our house in Derry would make it a little more special.

I understand that this is a wedding forum and we aren't all florists, I suppose I'm secretly hoping that the knowledge is out there.

    Thanks in advance

    Roddy
