FIS renewal - time waiting?

Hi all, can anyone help with the following;

Sister renewed her FIS application about 8 weeks ago, her employer filled in the paperwork and sent of the application. Thinking that was it she thought nothing more of it until two weeks ago.

She contacted FIS and asked them if her claim had been processed and carry on without interruption, she was told that no claim had been received!

They sent her out a new form and asked her to get in filled in ASAP and forward it off to them again.

She contacted them today to see what the status of her application was only to be told they are dealing with backlogs and will contact her in due course.

On my advice she sent the 2nd application by recorded post so we know they have received it, but they wont even confirm this to her.

She is now worried shoe will be without any money next week and she cant support her family with her wages alone.

Does anyone know how long the backlog is or if there is aything more she can do?

My fis was renewed 2 weeks ago.
It was due the 21st form was sent the 14th and payment made by 28th.

The cwo can help with payments while she waits on the renewal coming through.

First time applicant my form was received on the 25th may rang today apparently four weeks waiting period. Might be different for renewals
