Query about Service History

I'm looking for a second hand 7 seater petrol MPV. They're hard enough to find but may have found one from a main dealer with not too high a mileage, about 5 years old. Not sure whether I should post exact details here though. The thing is the service history is showing repairs of around €3000 from last September, it doesn't say what though - just noises from the gear box. (Seems to me like very high repair costs?) The clutch kit was subsequently replaced also and other work done about a month later e.g. brake pads and fluid, pollen filters. Anyway I'm wondering whether this is all a sign that there's recurring problems with the car or is the case that big things have been fixed relatively recently and lots of the parts are new. Would it be a risky choice to go for it with this history? Thanks

What make and model is the car ?

    Sounds like a gearbox replacement

It's a Toyota. You're right, it was subject to a recall last year and had the gearbox replaced. So am wondering whether that should be good as new now?

Is that not a lot for a gearbox replacement?

Why not ring the garage that did the work and ask them? They should have a record of what was done.

Definitely would be as good as new if it's a recall they have sorted the problem

Nope gear box replacement ranges from 1500 all the way to 6000

Only thing that has me wondering is that if it was a recall then their shouldn't be any cost to the owner so there shouldn't be any receipts ..... Strange

They put down costs so dealer can reclaim costs off toyota.

had a pick up with engine replaced free of charge with only 36k on it full block new and costs were near 5k sterling but was on receipt.

I would defo buy it op if at the right price it will be a good machine especially with that work done.

Many happy years driving in it.
